Engineering for founders with AI-built apps

You built the app.
Know what to fix.

A fix breaks another feature. Payments work, but account access doesn’t. Or the demo is ready and you want to know what needs attention before customers depend on it.

Start with a Launch Assessment, then choose the engineering work worth doing.

Launch Assessment

Understand what works, what needs attention, and what to do next. A focused engineering assessment with written findings, priorities, and practical implementation options.

One app. One customer journey.

We review one application, one deployment environment, and an agreed customer journey, such as signup through paid access. Relevant code, data flows, and connected services are included within that boundary.

What we review
  • A walkthrough of the app and the journey you want to support.
  • Review of the code, access rules, and data handling behind that journey.
  • Checks of deployment, error visibility, recovery arrangements, and service costs.

A decision you can act on.

  • Written findings with supporting examples and what we could verify.
  • Priorities for the next release, separated from improvements that can wait.
  • Recommendations on what to keep, change, or replace, including whether further work is worth funding.
  • A proposed first implementation scope, with an effort estimate and its assumptions.

We walk you through the findings. You keep them and can commission the next work with the engineer of your choice.

Send a link or short walkthrough. We’ll confirm fit, access requirements, and the delivery date before you book. Fixes and ongoing support are commissioned separately.

01 / How we help

An app to finish.
A product to keep improving.

You may be preparing for your first customers or already supporting them. Use the assessment findings to choose the next piece of work.

01

Something is unfinished

Get the important parts working.

Customers can reach the demo, but signup, payments, or a core workflow still breaks. We finish the missing pieces and test the complete journey, including the failures that left people stuck.

What you getA working customer journey, with tests covering its important success and failure paths.

02

Customers are coming

Prepare for real use.

The assessment identifies what needs attention before the next release. We implement the priority changes to access controls, data handling, and deployment, and check how they work together.

What you getRelease blockers fixed and verified, with a record of remaining work and guidance for running the app.

03

The product is live

Keep improving what you have.

A new feature breaks something that used to work, or the same customer problem keeps returning. We trace the cause, make the changes, and add checks to protect the behaviour customers rely on.

What you getProduct changes backed by regression tests, repeatable releases, and a clear owner for support.

02 / The engineering work

Look past the screen.
Check what the product relies on.

A working interface is one part of the application. We follow the customer journey through the code, data, services, and deployment behind it.

Accounts and access

Check who can read or change customer data, how account boundaries are enforced, and where privileged actions run. Implement and test the changes needed to protect those paths.

The journeys customers rely on

Exercise signup, purchase, and the product’s core workflow. Handle failed payments, incomplete inputs, and interrupted requests. Add regression tests for the behaviour that matters.

Data and connected services

Review database changes, secrets, and external integrations. Establish how important data is backed up and recovered, and check relevant service limits and running costs.

Releases and everyday operation

Make deployment repeatable, separate experiments from production, and make failures visible. Document how to release, roll back, and investigate problems.

Build for the customers you expect next, with running costs you understand. Implementation follows the priorities from the assessment and the work you choose to fund.

03 / How we work

A clear next step.
Work you can see and use.

Start with the assessment, then choose the implementation and support you need.

01 /

Assess the application.

Review the agreed customer journey and the code and services behind it. Leave with findings, priorities, and practical options for the next release.

02 /

Agree and implement.

Choose a piece of work from the findings. We agree its fee and what needs to work, make the changes, and test the customer journey before release.

03 /

Plan the next release.

Keep developing the product with accessible code and operating guidance. Agree who approves releases and handles problems, with ongoing development and maintenance available.

Who you’ll work with

Before we talk

A few practical
questions.

Does the app need to use a particular stack?

Bring the application you have. We check the code, connected services, and hosting to confirm technical fit before booking the assessment. The assessment then examines the agreed customer journey and the parts of the application behind it.

Will you need to rewrite it?

We start with what you have built. Existing code and services stay where they serve the product. If a part needs substantial rework or replacement, we explain the reason, options, and cost before agreeing that change.

Can I keep developing features myself?

We agree which changes you’ll make, which we’ll make, and how they reach production. We check whether continued development in your original builder fits that arrangement. You can stay involved in the product while we take responsibility for the engineering work you commission.

Does the assessment include fixing the app?

The Launch Assessment gives you written findings, priorities, and implementation options. Fixes and new features are a separate engagement once you have decided what to fund. You can use the findings with Aligned, your own team, or another engineer.

What does the assessment cost?

The standard Launch Assessment costs US$5,000. We confirm that your application fits the scope and agree the delivery date before you book. If your app needs a broader review, we explain the difference and quote it separately. Implementation and ongoing support are separate engagements.

How does the implementation credit work?

Once implementation fees for the same application reach US$20,000, we apply the full US$5,000 assessment credit to that invoice. At US$20,000 of implementation, assessment plus implementation therefore costs US$20,000 after credit. The threshold excludes the assessment fee, taxes, hosting, and other third-party costs.

Who owns the application and looks after it?

You retain control of your accounts and access to the source, configuration, and operating guidance, subject to third-party licenses. We agree who handles releases and problems: you, another provider, or Aligned under a separate maintenance agreement.
